Empowering women is to give women the right they deserve. They should be given equal right to participate in education, society, economy and politics, etc.., which unfortunately is not happening in our country especially in rural parts of the nation.Women empowerment is really needed in the societies. It’s so important for a women’s self-esteem and also for societies. Sri Vidhya Pedam will do its part in empowering women through customised programs.
It is a woman who plays a crucial role in the basic life of a child and families. Women are an important section of our society. Education as means of empowerment of women can bring about a positive attitudinal change. It is therefore, crucial for the socio- economic and political progress of India.
Bharat All Vishwakarma Trust Welfare Foundation will strive to achieve women empowerment using the following strategies:
1.Educating, mentoring and creating awareness among women about empowerment especially in the rural areas. The focus will be on empowering them socially, economically, politically and psychologically.
2.We will strive to socially empower them by giving them confidence, and motivating them about their role and importance in the society. Sri Vidhya Pedam will do our part on social empowerment by helping women towards improving their skills, knowledge and self-perception, which will benefit the society as a whole.
3.We will strive to empower women economically by training them on appropriate job opportunities. We will also empower women about gender inequality, which is a major curse. We will also ensure equal access to women to health care, quality education at all levels, career and vocational guidance, employment, equal remuneration, occupational health and safety, and social security etc.
4.Gender equality and women’s empowerment are both human rights and are necessary for achieving comprehensive, unbiased, and sustainable development. Women need to actively participate in governance and politics in order to maintain democracy. Women’s participation in politics helps advance gender equality and affects both the range of policy issues that get considered and the types of solutions that are proposed. Research indicates that whether a legislator is male or female has a distinct impact on their policy priorities. Sri Vidhya Pedam will take this issue to the grassroots and hope to make a strong political difference.
5.The psychological empowerment is a blend of self-esteem, self-efficacy, self-determination, self-confidence, self-awareness, positive thinking and it ultimately leads to wellbeing and happiness of women. A woman who is psychologically empowered has a capacity to increase self-image and conquer stigma. Empowering women means enabling women to access skill and knowledge and cope with the stress and trauma of present as well as future. Sri Vidhya Pedam will strive towards achieving psychological empowerment by reaching out to them through our trained counsellors who understand the ground situation and their psyche.
